İngiltere’de koronavirüs salgınının hızlı bir şekilde yayıldığı dönemlerde süpermarketlerden yüklü şekilde tuvalet kağıdı alanların görüntüleri, bu döneme dair “panik alışverişinin” ve değişen tüketim alışkanlıklarının da sembolü oldu.

Bu dönemde tüketicinin talep ve tüketim alışkanlıkları hızlı bir şekilde değişirken, virüsü kontrol altına almak için alınan önlemler de üretim ve tedarik tarafında farklı sıkıntıların doğmasına yol açtı.

Türkiye’de üretilen bir malın İngiltere’ye ulaşma süresi normal şartlar altında üç hafta civarında sürüyor. Ancak son dönemlerde bu süre sekiz haftaya kadar çıkmış durumda.

Salgının tedarik zincirine etkileri konusunda BBC Türkçe’nin sorularını yanıtlayan Gama Ltd Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Ali Sancak, İngiltere’de Mart ayı sonunda kısıtlamaların yürürlüğe girmesiyle birlikte “bir panik ortamının” oluştuğunu aktarıyor.

Sancak, yaklaşık iki aylık dönemde tüketicinin taleplerinde hızlı değişimler olduğuna dikkat çekerek, tuvalet kağıdının ardından bakliyat, makarna, başta sumak olmak üzere baharat, un, maya ve alkollü içeceklere yönelik talebin arttığını vurguluyor.
